چکیده

In this paper we propose the design of bow-tie antenna based on a simple modified transmission line model. The developed model is simple, accurate and takes into account all the antenna characteristics. The simulated antennas are designed to resonate at the frequencies 2.4 GHz and 8 GHz corresponding to RFID and Radars applications. To validate this last the obtained simulation results are compared to those obtained by the moment’s method (Agilent Momentum software). Using this transmission line approach the resonant frequency, input impedance, return loss can be determined simultaneously. The paper reports several simulation results that confirm the validity of the developed model. The obtained results are then presented and discussed.

UWB Planar Conical Horn-Shaped Self-Complementary Bow-Tie Antenna

An ultra-wideband (UWB) self-complementary planar bow-tie antenna (SCPBTA) is proposed. The antenna consists of a printed conical horn-shaped (CHS) radiator and a counterpart CHS slot etched on a rectangular ground plane. The printed CHS radiator is connected directly to the 50Ω microstrip line by bending the end portion of the feed line. As a result, the antenna has a simple structure which do...

Design of koch fractal bow tie antenna for wireless applications

The crowding of wireless band has necessitated the development of multiband and wideband wireless antennas. Because of the self similar characteristics, fractal concepts have emerged as a design methodology for compact multiband antennas. A Koch-like fractal curve is proposed to transform ultra-wideband (UWB) bow-tie into so called Koch-like sided fractal bow-tie dipole. A small isosceles trian...

A Comprehensive Study of Resistor-Loaded Planar Dipole Antennas for Ground Penetrating Radar Applications

iii Abstract Ground penetrating radar (GPR) systems are increasingly being used for the detection and location of buried objects within the upper regions of the earth’s surface. The antenna is the most critical component of such a system. This thesis presents a comprehensive study of resistor-loaded planar dipole antennas for GPR applications using both theory and experiments. The theoretical a...
